INPATIENT PSYCHIATRIST – completed US psychiatry residency requiredCenturion Health is proud to be the provider of mental health services to the Florida Department of Corrections. We are seeking a full-time Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our team at Reception and Medical Center located in Lake Butler, Florida 25 miles north of Gainesville.Practice in a large male correctional hospital providing inpatient services or reception and outpatient psychiatric services. Care for patients with complex comorbid psychiatric and general medical conditions.Lake Butler offers small-town life without being completely isolated and offers short drives to Gainesville and Lake City to experience more mainstream shopping, dining and cultural activities. While Lake Butler is more rural it offers broadband access that is surprisingly strong for a rural area.This site qualifies NHSC Loan Repayment and has a qualifying score of 6!The Psychiatrist provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for patients, works under the supervision of the Psychiatric Medical Director, and provides clinical leadership for a multidisciplinary team in providing mental health services to patients with psychiatric disorders or other mental health issues.Documentation of education as MD or DO and completion of US accredited psychiatry residency program requiredCurrent license to practice medicine in Florida as a psychiatrist requiredBoard Certification or Eligible in Psychiatry requiredMust have an active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration certificateMust maintain current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR certificationMust be able to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicableMinimum of two (2) years of experience practicing as psychiatrist in a clinical setting preferredExperience in correctional mental health care or locked unit preferredAvailable ShiftMonday-FridayDay ShiftAll full-time Psychiatrists participate in rotational on call approximately every 6 to 8 weeks.
