Job Overview We are looking for a Board Certified or Board‑Eligible ophthalmologist to join a busy private practice that operates within the Community Hospital’s Ambulatory Surgery Center. The candidate will join a team of two ophthalmologists, one of whom is retiring, and five optometrists to provide comprehensive eye care across six locations in Northeast Nebraska. Responsibilities and Qualifications Provide comprehensive ophthalmic care, including cataract, glaucoma, refractive, and other ocular disease treatments. Perform cataract, glaucoma, and refractive surgeries using state‑of‑the‑art equipment. Participate in a team‑based approach, delivering care in the Hospital’s Surgery Center and satellite clinics. Be a progressive, general ophthalmologist with an interest in cataracts, glaucoma, and refractive procedures, and consider a buy‑in opportunity after one year. Practice and Location This private group serves numerous counties in Northeast Nebraska with six office locations, including specialized services in Albion, Neligh, and Norfolk. The practice features a newly renovated Surgery Center and multiple satellite clinics. Hospital Surgery Center Newly renovated in 2021. Three pre‑operative bays and two post‑operative bays. Large central nurses’ station and staff breakroom. Minor procedure room housing a Lens‑x laser. Operating room with two separate beds for ophthalmology. Separately designated changing rooms for MDs and nurses. Shell space for supplies and sterilization, with potential for another OR. Equipment AMO WaveScan WaveFront system. IntraLaser iFS Advanced Femtosecond Laser. Visx Star S4 IR Excimer Laser (LASIK). Alcon LenSx Femtosecond Laser and ORA for cataracts. SLT Laser and MIGS Stents for glaucoma. Alcon Verisye and Visian Phakic IOL. Patient Volumes Clinic: 40‑45 patients per clinic day. Satellite clinics: 30‑35 patients per clinic day. Electronic Medical Records EMR: Modernizing Medicine iPad system. Compensation & Benefits Base salary with first-year buy‑in opportunity. Sign‑on bonus. Relocation stipend of $10,000. Paid time off.
