ORTHOPAEDIC SURGERY Neurorehabilitation Physiatrist ACADEMIC POSITION UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SAN FRANCISCO Assistant, Associate, Full Level The University of California, San Francisco, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is recruiting for a Physiatrist to serve as Medical Director of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility and Service Leader of PM&R Neurorehabilitation. This is a combined leadership and clinical role. The Medical Director leads the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to ensure high‑quality patient care and optimal functional recovery. The role oversees clinical operations, physician performance, regulatory compliance, and documentation requirements for the inpatient rehabilitation facility. Responsibilities include directing team conferences, managing complex patient care, supporting referral development, and ensuring appropriate staffing and coverage. As a Service Leader, the position partners with hospital leadership to advance neurorehabilitation quality metrics, patient experience, and program growth across acute hospital, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient settings. The preferred candidate will have 5–10 years of experience in neurorehabilitation and demonstrated leadership in inpatient rehabilitation programs. The selected candidate will be appointed to the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank of the Health Sciences (HS) Clinical, Clinical X, or In‑Residence faculty series. Position may be based in San Francisco across the acute hospital as well as the existing two inpatient rehabilitation facilities. The selected candidate will participate in clinical care activities at our inpatient and outpatient facilities and will be expected to collaborate in clinical and/or basic research as well as publish subsequent results in peer‑reviewed journals. Requirements A valid California medical license MD or DO degree from an accredited program Completed an accredited Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency program Board certified or eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Applicant’s materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. The minimum base salary range for this position is $154,700. This position is governed by the UC Health Sciences Compensation Plan, APM‑670 which allows for eligibility for negotiated additional compensation. As such, the total negotiated salary (including base and negotiated components) can be significantly higher and can range up to $1,500,000 depending on individual qualifications, clinical productivity, and other factors assessed at the time of offer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
