Job Description – Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) – STAT Lab $10,000 Sign on Bonus, with relevant experience Job Summary Under general supervision, perform quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests on patient specimens according to standard laboratory formulas and procedures. Analyze test results, prepare samples for testing, calculate test findings, and maintain records. Prepare solutions, reagents, media, stains, and other materials used in the testing process. Process and test all types of laboratory specimens; review and report lab results; perform operational duties, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment; act as a resource to other laboratory personnel. Responsibilities Perform quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests on patient specimens. Analyze test results and prepare samples for testing. Calculate test findings and maintain accurate records. Prepare and assess validity of solutions, reagents, media, stains, and other testing materials. Process and test all types of laboratory specimens and review/report lab results. Conduct operational duties, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Serve as a resource to other laboratory personnel. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from an approved college or university or graduation from an accredited school of medical technology; or equivalent military training as defined by 42 CFR . Prefer 6 months to 1 year experience as a medical laboratory technologist or clinical laboratory scientist in an acute care facility. Registered or registry eligible with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT, or CSMLS) within 12 months of hire. Equivalency evaluation by ECE, NACES, or AICE for non‑US trained personnel completed within 30 days of hire. Licensure required by state. Skills Required Analytical ability to interpret and analyze test results. Interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with all areas of the physician office. Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate various types of laboratory equipment. Visual acuity required to closely examine specimens.
