ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a Texas-licensed Physician (MD/DO) to provide direct patient care, clinical oversight, and nurse practitioner supervision for a university Student Health Center. This position combines outpatient primary care services with medical leadership responsibilities, supporting a multidisciplinary healthcare team that includes Family Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, and behavioral health providers.The ideal candidate will have experience in ambulatory care, student health, family medicine, internal medicine, or emergency medicine and be comfortable serving as a collaborating and supervising physician in a collegiate healthcare setting.Clinical ResponsibilitiesDirect Patient CareFall & Spring SemestersProvide two (2) onsite clinics per weekEach clinic consists of four (4) hoursApproximately eight (8) physician hours per week during academic sessionsAvailable for clinical consultation with Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses during clinic hoursSummer SessionsProvide one (1) four-hour onsite clinic per weekAvailable for clinical consultation during clinic hoursSemester Start-Up SupportParticipate in one (1) four-hour clinic during the first week of each Fall and Spring semesterAttend one (1) four-hour administrative and training session with Student Health Center staffSupervisory & Medical Director ResponsibilitiesSupervise three (3) Family Nurse PractitionersReview and sign 5% 10% of NP charts monthly in accordance with Texas regulations and facility policiesProvide ongoing clinical consultation and support to advanced practice providersEstablish and maintain clinical practice guidelinesMaintain standing orders and protocols for nursing staffAudit clinical documentation as neededParticipate in annual review and revision of policies and proceduresProvide staff education, training, and professional developmentMeet monthly with Student Health Center leadershipConsult with Counseling Center psychiatric providers regarding patient care concerns as neededSupport occasional telehealth services when necessaryCoordinate coverage and identify an alternate supervising physician during periods of absenceQualificationsRequiredDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)Active Texas Medical LicenseActive DEA RegistrationDemonstrated experience in outpatient clinical practice and provider supervisionCurrent professional malpractice insuranceAbility to successfully pass background screeningCurrent resume/CV and professional referencesPreferredBoard Certification in:Family MedicineInternal MedicineEmergency MedicinePrevious experience in student health, primary care, urgent care, or academic healthcare settingsExperience supervising Nurse Practitioners and multidisciplinary healthcare teamsScheduleFall & Spring SemestersApproximately 8 hours per week onsiteSummer SessionsApproximately 4 hours per week onsiteAdditional time may be required for chart review, administrative meetings, provider consultation, and policy review activities.Coverage RequirementsThe selected physician must identify a qualified backup physician who:Holds an active Texas Medical LicenseMaintains an active DEA RegistrationCan assume supervisory responsibilities when the primary physician is unavailable
