Job Description As an Emergency Medical Transport Pilot, you play a vital role in delivering urgent, life‑saving services to those in need. Essential Functions Operate aircraft in full compliance with all FAA regulations, company policies, and specific mission protocols. Plan and execute flights carefully, taking into account factors such as weather conditions, weight limits, and fuel requirements. Work collaboratively with medical personnel, ground crews, and dispatch teams to ensure seamless mission coordination. Respond promptly to emergency calls, maintaining a constant state of readiness. Keep accurate flight and maintenance logs in accordance with company and FAA standards. Represent the organization professionally during interactions with patients, families, and the public. Skills Adaptability Flight planning Communication Decision-making Team collaboration Situational awareness Leadership Safety compliance Technical proficiency Stress management Minimum Qualifications FAA Certifications: Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating or an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate category and class ratings. Current FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate (or higher). Flight Experience: Minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time in a helicopter. At least 100 hours of cross‑country flight time, including 25 hours at night. 75 actual or simulated instrument hours. 100 hours of unaided night flight time. Other: Ability to pass a 135.293 check ride within the first 60 days of employment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in air ambulance operations. Experience using Night Vision Goggles. 300 hours of flight time at night. 1,000 hours of turbine‑engine time. Residence within one hour of the designated base. Ability to remain seated for extended periods while operating the aircraft. Capability to perform pre‑flight and post‑flight inspections, which may involve physical activities such as climbing, kneeling, or stooping. Must meet FAA medical standards for physical and mental fitness, validated by a current FAA Medical Certificate. Satisfy Intermountain Health standards for annual hearing evaluations. Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds, as needed for equipment or luggage handling. Ability to tolerate various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and noise during flight operations. Compliance with current weight restrictions as established by the company.
