Pediatric Nephrologist Overview The Division of Pediatric Nephrology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine invites applications for a Pediatric Nephrologist with a specific interest in pediatric kidney transplantation. The position is open immediately and may lead to the role of Medical Director of Kidney Transplantation upon completion of a 1–3 year mentorship under Dr. David K. Hooper, MD. Responsibilities Provide outpatient and inpatient care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with kidney disorders, including those on dialysis and post‑kidney transplant patients. Perform essential procedures such as hemodialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy, peritoneal dialysis, therapeutic plasma exchange, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and kidney biopsy with sedation. Deliver clinical care at Primary Children’s Hospitals in Salt Lake City and Lehi, UT; University of Utah Hospital and Clinics; and potential outreach clinics. Participate in teaching and, where desired, scholarly research; faculty development and mentoring are encouraged. Upon appointment as Medical Director of Kidney Transplantation, assume dedicated administrative responsibilities to lead and grow the program. Qualifications Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Nephrology. Proficient in procedural and clinical care for pediatric kidney diseases. Experience or willingness to develop expertise in pediatric kidney transplantation. Ability to work collaboratively in an academic, hospital environment.
