Advance Your Career in Inpatient Psychiatry Leadership This is an opportunity to step into a dual role as a full-time psychiatrist and facility medical director within a well-supported inpatient behavioral health environment. We are seeking an Indiana-licensed psychiatrist who is passionate about clinical excellence, leadership, and quality of care. This role allows you to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while avoiding the administrative burden of private practice. Role Overview Provide direct psychiatric care to adult and geriatric patients in an inpatient setting Serve as on-site facility medical director, partnering with hospital administration Inpatient psychiatric services with additional outpatient and consultative components, including PHP/IOP and on-site or remote psychiatric consultations Typical caseload of 12–16 patients per day Monday–Friday schedule, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (with some flexibility) Primarily inpatient responsibilities with occasional PHP/IOP or telepsychiatry coverage Support quality initiatives and align clinical operations with organizational goals Leadership Responsibilities Collaborate with hospital leadership to maintain high standards of clinical care Support quality, safety, and compliance initiatives Provide clinical oversight and leadership to the psychiatric care team Participate in program development and operational alignment as needed Clinical & Operational Support Paid professional liability insurance with tail coverage Clinician wellness and referral programs Industry-leading clinical support, including MIPS guidance, billing and coding education, and access to experienced clinical educators Established infrastructure with extensive back-office and local management support Requirements Board certified or board eligible in psychiatry Active (or eligible) Indiana medical license Prior leadership or medical director experience preferred but not required Compensation & Additional Pay Opportunities Very competitive base salary Additional compensation for facility medical director responsibilities Productivity bonus After-hours call coverage (rotational/voluntary) Weekend coverage (rotational/voluntary) Nurse practitioner supervision compensation, if applicable Benefits & Highlights 401(k) Health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance Health savings account and flexible spending account Paid time off CME allowance Employee assistance program Referral program If you’re ready to combine clinical practice with meaningful leadership in a supportive inpatient environment, this role offers the balance, impact, and stability many physicians are seeking.
