Position Summary A Walmart Associate Optometrist is the clinical partner to the Vision Center Manager and is core to our mission of advancing eyecare affordably for everyone. What You’ll Do Provide evidence‑based vision care, recommending and prescribing medications and treatment options such as red eye, LASIK surgery, and cataract surgery. Deliver routine vision care using evidence‑based care guidelines. Educate patients and store associates on eye health, contact lens care, disease‑state management, and safety factors. Consult with other health professionals to prepare patient care plans while observing optometry scope of practice per state board. Embrace new equipment technology and advanced instrumentation, integrating digital phoropters, EMR, Maestro (OCT/retinal camera combo) and other advanced tools. Relationships: Build trusting relationships across functional and geographical boundaries. Qualifications Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry school. Licensed optometrist in good standing in the state of practice. Experience with EMR/EHR systems. Eagerness to embrace new equipment technology and advanced instrumentation. Experience treating and managing ocular disease.
