Advanced EMT Responsibilities Provide an assessment of patients, determine necessary care, and deliver emergency services by utilizing appropriate medical techniques and equipment. Document patient information, condition, and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights. Take pride in providing a safe, clean, and well‑stocked environment for patients. Use Advanced EMT skills to provide care including communication, medical equipment usage, cleaning procedures, and use of office equipment and tools. Operate an ambulance in conjunction with applicable company safety policies and traffic laws related to the operation of emergency medical response vehicles. Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as fellow co‑workers. Participate in community programs to maintain company image and establish strong community relations. Minimum Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED). State driver’s license. National or state Advanced EMT certification. CPR/BLS certifications. Driving record in compliance with company policy. Pass a Physical Agility Test. Working Conditions and Mental/Physical Requirements Working Conditions: Available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays, including extended workdays. Long periods inside the ambulance. May work indoors or outdoors with exposure to weather. Possible routine exposure to moderate noise levels. May periodically work in poorly lit environments in a moving vehicle. Physical Demands: Moderate to extended amounts of sitting, standing, and walking. Some repetitive motion activities. Routinely lifting more than 200 lbs. with assistance. Pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, carrying, typing, and stair climbing. Visual identification of color‑coded items. Clear speech and hearing. Must be able to wear a face mask or respirator with proper fit for extended periods when required. Mental Requirements: Critical thinking skills with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
