Job Description Summary Assists patients to move rapidly, uneventfully, and effectively through their episode of care while maintaining quality and safety. Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach. Directs and oversees developmentally appropriate patient care. Promotes patient advocacy in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses. Essential Functions Provide nursing care using a Family Centered approach. Assess individualized patient needs. Communicate patient care needs and priorities to LPNs, PCAs, Unit Coordinators, and Allied Health personnel. Plan, implement, educate, and evaluate care using Evidence‑Based Practices. Utilize therapeutic communication while monitoring the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and families. Engage in workplace community: participate in data collection or auditing, support Quality Improvement, represent staff at meetings, and report updates. Document care according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures. Education & Licensure BSN or Associate degree; must obtain BSN within 5 years of hire. Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio. Certifications Current CPR certification. Willingness to obtain and maintain NRP, PALS, ACLS, APHON or other necessary certifications as determined by manager. Physical Requirements Occasionally: handle biohazard waste, climb stairs/ladder, drive motor vehicles, handle fumes, gases, vapors, hands: grasp, grip, turn; lift/carry 41‑60 lbs; lift/carry 61‑100 lbs; use machinery or power tools; push/pull 100 lbs or greater with assistance; reach above shoulder. Frequently: bend/twist, exposure to blood and bodily fluids, chemicals/medications, communicable diseases and pathogens, depth perception, electricity; lift/carry 0‑10 lbs; 11‑20 lbs; 21‑40 lbs; patient equipment; push/pull 0‑25 lbs; 26‑40 lbs; 41‑60 lbs; 61‑100 lbs; repetitive hand/arm use; sit; squat/kneel. Continuously: audible speech, color vision, computer skills; decision making; hearing acuity; interpreting data; peripheral vision; problem solving; vision; standing; walking.
