Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology – BMC-South (Brockton) Boston Medical Center Health System is seeking a Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology to provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership, ensuring high‑quality, patient‑centered care aligned with the hospital’s mission and community needs. Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning : Works with the System Chief on annual goals and objectives, ensures departmental goals align with the health system, engages stakeholders to advance the strategic vision. Leadership : Works closely with the System Chief and Administrative Director to ensure service integration, fosters collaborative relationships with department chiefs, participates in senior leadership committees, and acts as an ambassador for BMC. Faculty and Staff : Establishes expectations for clinical service, teaching, and research; promotes professional growth; oversees clinical schedules; recruits, retains, and onboards faculty; evaluates performance; resolves grievances. Financial : Develops and manages departmental budget, monitors productivity data, ensures billing compliance, and improves reimbursement. Clinical : Creates and optimizes clinical programs; coordinates with other departments to improve care; fosters collaboration with community health centers; develops referral pathways with outside hospitals. Quality/Regulatory : Oversees quality management program, conducts morbidity & mortality reviews, attends quality huddles, leads maternal health initiatives, and ensures compliance with accreditation standards. Education and Research : Supports integration of students and residents, promotes educational opportunities, and fosters clinician and patient participation in research studies. Qualifications MD or DO with board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Massachusetts. Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in obstetrics and gynecology; prior leadership experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, health equity, and team‑based care. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Experience in a community hospital setting or with underserved populations preferred. Compensation Boston Medical Center offers a competitive salary commensurate with academic training and practice experience. Salary range is $319,300 to $460,300, plus paid vacation, sick time, parental leave, and CME expenses.
