We serve a culturally diverse population with a wide spectrum of medical conditions. A Nocturnist/Hospitalist specializes in the comprehensive care of hospitalized patients, managing patient treatment from admission to discharge, coordinating with specialists, and ensuring continuity of care. Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is a 220‑bed teaching hospital located in a residential neighborhood on the border of northern Brooklyn and western Queens. We serve a variety of cultural and ethnic communities and are committed to quality and compassion in addressing the healthcare needs of urban neighborhoods. As a Hospitalist Physician, you will play a vital role in providing high‑quality inpatient care. You will manage patient health conditions, coordinate with other healthcare professionals, and provide patient consultations. Our ideal candidate is knowledgeable about internal medicine, capable of handling acute medical conditions, and possesses strong expertise in performing a variety of medical procedures. The goal is to provide exceptional patient care in a compassionate and professional manner. Key Responsibilities Evaluate patients to assess their medical condition and establish treatment protocols. Develop and manage treatment plans. Order and interpret diagnostic tests. Perform medical procedures as needed. Coordinate and oversee patient care in the hospital, including specialists and ancillary staff. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly. Communicate with patients and families about conditions and care plans. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date medical records. Participate in hospital committees and quality improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with healthcare laws and hospital policies. Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), or foreign equivalent. Completion of post‑graduate medical training from a U.S. accredited residency program in Internal Medicine. Board eligible/board certified in Internal Medicine. Must possess active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration. Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid enrollment or be eligible to enroll. Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills. Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office. ACLS/BCLS certification. Experience in inpatient care (2–5 years preferred). Skills and Competencies Strong clinical decision‑making and diagnostic skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Compassionate and patient‑centered approach. Organizational skills to manage multiple patients effectively. Experience in an inpatient hospital setting. Seven days on/ seven days off work schedule (7:00 pm‑7:00 am). Reports to Chief Hospitalist. We offer an attractive salary, paid malpractice, generous paid time off program, CME days plus allowance, retirement benefits, and a competitive benefit package. Compensation ranges from $260,000 to $310,000 (not including bonuses or incentive compensation or benefits) based upon years of experience.
