Oncology Field Medical, Director (non-MD), Solid Tumors and Early Pipeline The Oncology Field Medical, Director is responsible for providing therapeutic area/product expertise for Solid Tumors (primarily colorectal cancer and melanoma) as well as Early Pipeline support across a broad range of medical customer segments and initiatives in New York. Field Medical Core Responsibilities Plan and execute medical strategy and engagement for assigned customers within a territory, coordinating compliantly with other Pfizer colleagues to achieve medical objectives. Maintain an up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant therapeutic areas, disease states, and Pfizer medicines, supplying therapeutic area/product information to internal and external stakeholders as needed. Serve as a conduit and resource for medical information and customer insights, providing requested information to HCPs within Pfizer guidance and sharing customer viewpoints with Pfizer as appropriate. Understand the priorities of Pfizer Medical Affairs, contributing to medical content strategy development and executing aligned field‑medical tactics. Maintain effective communication and collaboration among headquarters medical colleagues, medical information, and other Pfizer field‑medical colleagues. Demonstrate expertise in communication across multiple channels, including live and virtual presentations, written communication, and telephone or virtual conversations. Optimize patient centricity of medical communications and deliverables, incorporating health literacy and cultural awareness principles so patients remain the ultimate focus. Field Medical Role Responsibilities Deliver approved medical content about Pfizer medicines and relevant topics in the designated therapeutic area. Identify and seek medical engagement from priority customer segments in the assigned therapeutic area. Provide truthful, accurate, and scientifically supported information in response to unsolicited medical requests from HCPs, complying with all applicable Pfizer guidelines, policies, and procedures. Lead advisory boards (e.g., develop BRF, collaborate with agencies) under manager oversight. Field relevant inbound queries from HCPs via the established triage process. Partner with Oncology R&D and Global Product Development to identify potential sites for Pfizer‑sponsored clinical trials, including sites serving under‑represented patient populations. Provide medical support throughout the investigator‑sponsored research (ISR) process. Cultivate research and therapeutic area expertise, staying familiar with the latest congress data and disease‑state literature. Provide asset leadership. Explain study design, methodology, data analysis, and interpretation to customers, using clear language. Show strong territory leadership. Communicate reactively and proactively with local patient advocacy groups, collaborating with Corporate Affairs and HQ Medical Affairs when appropriate. Deliver insights on local patient organization structures, capabilities, and population needs. Serve on medical or therapeutic‑area cross‑functional committees, representing Pfizer Medical Affairs at clinical/professional associations and societies with professionalism. Mentor onboarding partners, associate board and study leads. Participate in special projects as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a health science is required. PharmD, PhD, or an equivalent terminal doctoral degree (e.g., Doctor of Nursing Practice, Doctor of Physical Therapy) is highly preferred. Relevant experience: PharmD/PhD with 5+ years, MBA/MSc with 7+ years, or BA/BSc with 8+ years. Subject‑matter expert recognized by internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities, including influence, collaboration, and business impact. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to understand and respond to multiple external and internal customer demands, and manage conflict constructively. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with internal/external SOPs, rules, and regulations regarding Pfizer‑customer interactions and relationships. Previous field‑medical experience. Demonstrated breadth of leadership: influence, coaching, overseeing, and guiding work of others to achieve meaningful outcomes and business impact. Non‑Standard Work Schedule, Travel or Environment Requirements Flexibility to travel 60‑80% of the time. Operate a company car and regularly fly on airplanes. Work Location Assignment: Remote – Field Based Applications accepted through June 11th. The annual base salary for this position ranges from $176,600 to $294,300. In addition, the position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20% of base salary and a share‑based long‑term incentive program.
