Job Category Academic Staff Employment Type Regular Job Profile Assistant Professor (CHS) Job Summary The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin is recruiting an exceptional Neonatology Hospitalist to join our Division of Neonatology & Newborn Nursery. We are looking for candidates with a track record of clinical excellence and interest in education as demonstrated through training and/or practice experience. Key Job Responsibilities Other clinical responsibilities could include rotating through the Newborn Nursery. Provide clinical care to level III and IV neonates at both the American Family Children’s Hospital (AFCH) and Meriter Hospitals. Participate in clinical teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students, and support the teaching and clinical research missions of the division and department. Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members. Department School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology & Newborn Nursery Our department is a vibrant academic department comprising more than 200 faculty members in 16 subspecialty divisions. The department promotes and enhances the health of children through outstanding clinical care, exemplary education of pediatric trainees, performance of cutting‑edge research, and vigorous advocacy. Required Qualifications Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatrics through the American Board of Pediatrics is required by appointment start date. Completion of an ACGME‑approved pediatric residency program is required by appointment start date. Certification in NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) is required by appointment start date. Candidate must have a Wisconsin medical license by the appointment start date. Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges by the appointment start date. Preferred Qualifications For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on the CHS or CT Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS or CT Track. Certification in PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support). Education MD, DO, or equivalent is required.
