The Senior Director, Patient Access Portfolio Strategy and Operations is responsible for defining and advancing Takeda’s next-generation patient access ecosystem through digital innovation, technology enablement, and portfolio-level strategy. The leader provides vision for digital patient support tools and technology platforms that transform the patient and provider experience, accelerate speed to therapy, and drive scalable, insight-driven access models across the USBU portfolio. Leads functional support teams across four business-aligned teams to support the patient journey. How You Will Contribute Develop and execute a portfolio-level patient access strategy across brands; establish frameworks to prioritize investments across access programs, digital tools, and service models. Drive cross-brand standardization where appropriate; lead governance models to evaluate performance, financial governance, and continuous optimization. Define and lead enterprise digital vision for Patient Access aligned with USBU and PAMA. Identify/prioritize transformative digital capabilities (automation, AI-enabled workflows, advanced analytics, engagement platforms); modernize infrastructure for omnichannel experiences. Partner with DD&T to translate business needs into scalable, interoperable solutions; evolve core platforms (CRM, data integration layers, pharmacy tools). Advance real-time visibility into patient journey performance and drop-off/intervention opportunities; champion data-driven decision making (analytics, predictive modeling, dashboards). Identify/build external partnerships; evaluate emerging technologies/vendors; lead pilots and innovation initiatives. Serve as a senior strategic partner to MACS, DD&T, A&I, Commercial Operations, Medical, Legal, Compliance, and Field Access; lead finance/contracting centralization and harmonization for patient access. Build and lead a high-performing portfolio strategy team; foster innovation/accountability; upskill the organization on digital enablement and future-ready access models. Education and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. 10–15+ years in biopharmaceutical patient access, specialty pharmacy, hub services, or related commercial operations. Deep understanding of U.S. payer/channel/SP distribution and patient support models. Demonstrated success leading large, complex operations and cross-functional transformation. Expertise in systems/workflow design, vendor oversight, and process optimization. Skills (required/preferred) Strong analytical and enterprise leadership; influence senior stakeholders and lead through complexity/ambiguity. Strategic and systems-mindset; able to architect end-to-end operational frameworks. Digitally fluent (data flows, reporting, CRM platforms, automation opportunities). Collaborative, enterprise-oriented; ability to develop talent. Experience with digital transformation/technology strategy/platform enablement in healthcare or life sciences; scaling enterprise portfolio strategies across brands/business units.
