Summary Advertisement closes on 06/05/ :00 AM. Pay Grade: Grade 29. Salary: $43.37 - $53.93 per hour. Duty location: Hopkins County Health Department. Directs the personnel of a single or multi‑county health department in providing a variety of public health services (medical, environmental and supportive services) to the community served by the department. Typically supervises 61‑100 employees. Responsibilities Direct the activities of employees in providing medical and environmental programs and services. Direct the financial management functions of the department, review, approve and monitor program plans for the various services and programs. Evaluate employee job performance, direct personnel actions, develop and maintain appropriate administrative procedures and policies. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws, regulations, statutes and programmatic policies. Employ staff for the department, meet with the Board of Health to describe and discuss activities. Promote the services of the health department within the community and attend meetings at the local, regional and state level. Analyze strategies for determining budget priorities, provide services to the community based on health assessment, work with stakeholders and available funds. Minimum Requirements Education: Master’s Degree, from an accredited college or university, in Business or Public Administration, Health Administration, Public or Community Health, Social Science, Nursing, Education, or another related degree. Experience: Five years of experience in Public Health or other health‑related occupations, three of which must have been in a supervisory or management capacity. Public Health experience preferred. Substitution Clause: A Bachelor’s Degree plus two additional years of experience in Public Health or health‑related field, or a CPH certificate will substitute for the required education or additional experience.
