Position Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) New Brunswick Seeking a full-time Hospitalist Admitter to join our Hospitalist Division with Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, The State University of New Jersey. Responsibilities In this position, the Admitter will primarily manage admitted patients to the hospitalist medicine service in close collaboration with consultants and subspecialists who practice at RWJUH. Working on a well-established, multidisciplinary team, the hospitalist's main goal is to partner with the emergency department physicians, observation unit physicians, and intensivists for patients who require admission to the hospitalist service for acute inpatient levels of care on medical surgical and intermediate care units. The hospitalist will coordinate inpatient care, assist with transitions of care back to the ambulatory setting, and work closely with the medical and surgical support staff, inclusive of advanced practice providers. Ideal candidates will be joining a busy and growing practice delivering comprehensive care. A core function is to support a team-based approach, inclusive of communication with case managers, social workers, bed managers, and others to ensure appropriate patient-centered transitions of care. The hospitalist will work extensively with the case management, social work, bed management, and pharmacy teams to assist in patient and family communications and care planning. In addition to providing clinical care, the institution offers opportunities to engage in clinical and research programs, faculty development, quality improvement activities, and teaching initiatives. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience MD/DO or equivalent. Certifications/Licenses Board eligible in Internal Medicine and/or Family Medicine preferred. Location and Compensation Location: Downtown New Brunswick, NJ. Salary: $119,263 (final salary offer may vary based on qualifications, experience, and available department or grant funds).
