Physician – Endocrinologist (Part‑time, Permanent) – Des Moines, IA Overview The Central Iowa VA Health Care System is recruiting an Endocrinologist to provide specialized care in a Whole Health System of care for Veterans. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in Endocrinology in inpatient and outpatient settings. Offer education and counseling regarding medical conditions, health status and medication management. Ensure high‑quality patient care delivered efficiently. Collaborate and consult with multidisciplinary providers (nursing, social work, pharmacists, mental health, etc.) to ensure seamless care. Work with hospitalists and multidisciplinary team when treating inpatients. Serve as supervising or collaborating physician for Physician Assistants as required. Act as surrogate provider for colleagues on leave. Complete documentation in a timely manner per staff bylaws. Qualifications United States citizenship (non‑citizens only when no qualified citizens are available). Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an accredited U.S. medical school (or foreign medical graduate verified by ECFMG). Current, full and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia. Completed an ACGME or AOA‑accredited residency in a core specialty leading to board certification. Proficiency in written and spoken English.
