The DON ensures delivery of high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and continuous quality improvement. This role carries full accountability for nursing operations and works in close partnership with the Administrator and interdisciplinary leadership team.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESClinical Leadership & OperationsLead all nursing operations (RN, LVN, CNA)Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, resident-centered careOversee assessments, care planning, and clinical documentationMaintain strong clinical presence through rounding and team engagementRegulatory Compliance & Survey ReadinessMaintain ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local regulationsLead survey readiness and response effortsImplement and monitor policies aligned with current standards of careTeam Leadership & DevelopmentRecruit, hire, and develop nursing staffDrive staff engagement, retention, and accountabilityOversee staffing, scheduling, and performance managementQuality ImprovementLead QAPI initiatives and monitor key clinical indicatorsImplement action plans to improve outcomes and reduce riskPartner with interdisciplinary teams to drive continuous improvementAdministrative OversightManage departmental budgets and resource allocationCollaborate with physicians, consultants, and external partnersServe as liaison to residents, families, and regulatory agenciesQUALIFICATIONSRequired:Active California RN license5+ years of nursing experience in SNF or long-term care3+ years of leadership experience (DON, ADON, or equivalent)Strong knowledge of Title 22 and CMS regulationsPreferred:Prior DON experience in a SNFADON ready to step into a DON roleExperience with MDS/RAI/PPS (RAC-CT preferred)BSNBenefitsAt the Masons of California and its related entities, you will have the opportunity to combine your passion for helping people and high ethical standards with opportunities to advance your career.
