Overview Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work under the general supervision of their Medical Director, all physician partners and their APP Manager in WakeMed Physician Practices to deliver competent medical care to patients at WakeMed. This position can consist of both inpatient and outpatient care depending on the needs of the service and is outlined in the clinical job expectations. This may include completion of referrals, consults, daily patient rounds, daily notes, discharge summaries, procedures, clinic notes, pre and post procedure care, prescribing, and patient care follow-ups. Work closely with other healthcare providers in a collaborative multidisciplinary approach to maximize the care we provide to our patients. Function as an educator for PA/NP/CNM students from healthcare education programs. Maintain scope of practice consistent with North Carolina Medical Board, North Carolina Board of Nursing, and other regulatory agencies, as well as WakeMed policies. Additional certifications such as Advanced Life Support may be required based on clinical area of practice and reviewed annually.
