Chief Purpose of this position This position will have a role expanding patient access to cutting-edge treatments including clinical trials in VCU Health’s Cellular Immunotherapies and Transplant Program. Duties & Responsibilities Teaching | Trains medical students, residents and fellows while in the clinic. Expected to actively participate in providing research opportunities to fellows. Mentors junior faculty. Research | Participates and engages other members of the Massey Cancer Center and the Department of Internal Medicine in collaborative research projects. Stays up to date on the clinical trial menu offered through the Massey Cancer Center and educates patients on their options for treatment on clinical trials. Service | Participate in program tumor boards, Quality Assurance and Improvement activities and meetings, and in ad hoc program project endeavors as directed by the Medical Director. Help to give relevant teaching sessions to the APP in the CIT program. Clinical | Attends on the inpatient Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, and sees patients in the outpatient clinic for consults, post-transplant care and in long term survivorship.
