The Licensed Vocational Nurse I (LVN I) supports Registered Nurses and Medical Providers by delivering direct patient care in acute and ambulatory settings. Essential Duties Conduct basic assessments, participate in care planning, and execute interventions in accordance with the plan of care. Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain vital signs, and record medication lists. Assist physicians with minor clinical procedures, perform EKGs, and administer medications as directed. Schedule and coordinate diagnostic tests ordered by physicians. Answer phones, handle incoming faxes, and provide prior authorization assistance. Maintain accurate medical records and enter charges into the billing system. Serve as a liaison between physicians and other staff, communicating effectively. Triage patients in person and over the telephone, implementing efficient patient flow. Perform first aid and CPR when needed, and assist physicians with exams and treatments as permitted. Organize pharmacy refill requests for physician approval. Work independently and collaboratively to accomplish duties in a timely manner, ensuring patient privacy, safety, and confidentiality. Maintain a safe environment, comply with infection control policies, and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Graduated from an accredited Vocational Nursing Program. 0–2 years of experience in an acute care or ambulatory care setting. Ability to work effectively with physicians, staff, and patients. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word and internet use. Excellent customer service behavior and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to make decisions effectively with appropriate stakeholder input. Required Licenses & Certifications Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – California DCA. Basic Life Support (BLS) – Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association. Fire Life Safety Training (LA City).
