Qualifications H.S. Diploma or GED plus a sufficient number of college/technical school courses and clinical training to satisfy the requirements for testing and certification as a medical technologist by an approved certifying agency (Required). Bachelor's Degree in clinical laboratory science, biomedical science, medical technology or a life/biological science (biology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc.) (Preferred). Work Experience No experience required (Required). 1 year of supervised clinical experience as a medical technologist in a clinical laboratory (Preferred). Licenses and Certifications Certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by ASCP, AMT, or AAB according to state regulations (Required). Person recently moved into Georgia or recently completed requirements may be temporarily classified as technologist or technician for 18 months to afford opportunity to complete qualifying examination (Required).
