Description The University of Virginia (UVA) seeks a full‑time, open‑track Assistant, Associate or Full Professor to join its Division of Pediatric Cardiology. Salary is dependent upon qualifications. Candidates must have an MD or DO and be board certified in Pediatric Cardiology. They must have completed a year of additional formal training in advanced heart failure, transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support, and meet criteria to be recognized as a transplant physician by UNOS. Training and experience at an institution with a high‑performing congenital heart surgery and transplant program is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will be appointed in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology of the Department of Pediatrics. The Division consists of 13 cardiologists with clinical interests that include heart failure/transplantation/mechanical circulatory support, pulmonary hypertension, interventional cardiology, imaging, adult congenital heart disease, and electrophysiology. Responsibilities include: Clinical coverage of the heart failure/transplant/mechanical support population in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Covering general pediatric cardiology inpatient and outpatient clinic services. Participation in heart failure, transplantation and cardiomyopathy clinics. Additional context: The Division currently has 3 faculty members caring for the heart failure/transplant population who will share coverage with the new hire. The University hosts a high volume of pediatric cardiac transplants and mechanical circulatory device placements, and the Children’s Heart Program is ranked in the top 50 by U.S. News & World Report.
