Job Duties and Responsibilities Provide emergency medical care and follow‑up evaluations. Maintain adequate knowledge of the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act and OSHA recordability; demonstrate competency in these areas through case management review of the medical record. Assist with the development, implementation, and revision of policies and procedures affecting medical practice, judgment, and quality of occupational health services. Coordinate work with physicians and staff and provide coverage to other emergency medicine locations. Supervise Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners. Perform and direct medical quality improvement activities. Act as liaison with the medical community. Order and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests. Initiate referrals and consultations as needed. Maintain confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/Entity and the proper release of information. Comply with Network and departmental policies regarding employee, patient, and environmental safety and follow appropriate reporting requirements. Demonstrate the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external). Demonstrate performance improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety. Demonstrate financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes, and practices. Comply with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code. Demonstrate competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development, and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated. Other related duties as assigned. Physical and Sensory Requirements Sitting for up to 3 hours per day and 3 hours at a time. Standing for up to 8 hours per day and 8 hours at a time. Walking for up to 6 hours per day, 1 hour at a time. Frequent fingering, handling, firm grasping, and twisting. Rarely lifting, with assistance up to 100 pounds. Rarely pushing and pulling patients weighing up to 300 pounds in a wheelchair or bed. Occasionally stooping and bending. Normal near and far vision and hearing for both high and low frequencies. Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited school of medicine. Board certified in occupational medicine, family practice, emergency medicine, or internal medicine, or eligible and certified within one year of hire. Minimum of one year of experience required, preferably in an emergency medicine setting. Fluency in Spanish language is desirable.
