Hospitalist – Virginia, MN Essentia Health Virginia Hospital is a 30‑bed Level IV Trauma Center and certified Stroke Ready facility located 60 miles north of Duluth, MN. Scope of Practice Hospitalist‑run ICU with ventilator management required for 24‑48hours. Critical Care consults easily accessible. Additional subspecialty consults via phone or telehealth 1hour away at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center, a LevelI tertiary care hospital. Procedures not required. Full laboratory and imaging services, including MRI and CT. Inpatient services: General Surgery, ENT, Orthopedic Surgery, Obstetrics/Gynecology. Staffing Model & Schedule 1 Physician + 1 Advanced Practice Provider (APP) per day, 1 dedicated physician nocturnist for night shifts. Average team census: 24‑28 patients (includes admissions). Typical schedule: 7‑day on, 7‑day off throughout the year; 175 shifts considered full‑time. Flexible scheduling. Requirements Board‑Certified/Board‑Eligible in Internal Medicine (BC/BE) or Family Medicine (BC/BE) with strong interest in hospital‑based care. Opportunity for mentorship available.
