Job Summary The Faculty Practice Physician Faculty will provide evidence‑based, efficient patient care services and mentor residents and students in the Department of Family Medicine. The position is 20 hours per week, primarily delivering ambulatory care at Deerfield Retirement Community and providing inpatient services at Mission Hospital. Specific Responsibilities Clinical: Provide direct clinical care to Family Medicine patients 6‑7½ days per week in the ambulatory setting, oversee resident teams in the inpatient setting at Mission Hospital for 5‑10 weeks per year, and comply with institutional policies for credentialing, documentation, and billing. Teaching: Serve as faculty advisor and mentor for residents; promote and participate in continuing education, residency, and student programs; supervise and teach learners in both ambulatory and inpatient environments. Research: Demonstrate commitment to community‑based health sciences and pursue scholarly activity. Specified Skills Computer – proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database applications; experience with Electronic Medical Records. Foreign language – Spanish speaking skills preferred. Physical Demands Light to moderate energy level; lift and carry 25–35 lbs, push/pull 50–100 lbs; occasional activities up to 33% of workday. Education and Experience Completion of a Family Medicine Residency Program. Teaching experience preferred. Required Licenses Medical licensure in North Carolina. Board certification by the American Board of Family Physicians. Appointment in good standing with the medical staff of Mission Health System. Schedule Regular on‑site attendance is essential.
