Position Summary Neuropsychologist Clinician Scientist at the Deanna and Sidney Wolk Center for Memory Health, Hebrew SeniorLife, performs dual functions: clinical patient care and scientific research on therapeutic modalities. The clinician provides diagnostic evaluations and treatment for patients with cognitive and behavioral problems, trains technicians, ensures quality control, and oversees the clinical noninvasive brain stimulation program. The scientist leads early development of clinical research, designs clinical trials, advances neuromodulation applications, and translates research findings to clinical practice. Core Competencies Diagnose and treat neuropsychological conditions in adult and geriatric patients using evidence‑based techniques. Intervene and manage patients in psychological crisis. Apply and supervise transcranial magnetic stimulation and transcranial electrical stimulation sessions in clinical and non‑labelled programs. Train and assess competencies of non‑invasive brain stimulation technicians. Coordinate and supervise the clinical non‑invasive brain stimulation program. Integrate novel mobile technologies to promote cognitive well‑being and healthy aging. Provide education on neuropsychological concepts and neuromodulation to patients, staff, and families at appropriate levels. Collaborate across teams and the organization to accomplish tasks and achieve desired results. Demonstrate enthusiasm, support group decision‑making, and solicit opinions from co‑workers. Stay informed of current professional trends, learn new concepts, and set self‑development goals. Position Responsibilities Provide consultation in outpatient settings. Provide scientific and clinical leadership. Assess cognitive functioning in dementing diseases (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Frontal‑Temporal dementia). Conduct neuropsychological evaluations covering intelligence, attention, concentration, sensorimotor function, language, learning, memory, abstract reasoning, executive functioning, motor skills, and other cognitive functions. Assess mood, quality of life, and activities of daily living. Offer rehabilitation strategies to assist daily living tasks. Write detailed clinical neuropsychological reports using data from tests, neuroimaging, diagnostic procedures, self‑report measures, rating scales, observations, or interviews. Work closely with the Medical Director to identify patient needs and inform research development roadmap. Lead the scientific development and execution of clinical trials. Co‑lead the Healthy Aging Initiative to identify markers of physical and mental health across the lifespan and promote multimodal interventions. Lead the scientific development and execution of remotely monitored caregiver‑led neuromodulation applications. Lead development of a scientific program combining home‑based multi‑focal stimulation with imaging‑based computational modeling to investigate targeted symptom‑specific brain circuits in older adults with major depressive disorder and dementia. Publish scientific work in high impact‑factor peer‑reviewed journals and present at national and international meetings. Supervise training of non‑invasive brain stimulation technicians, develop curricula, assess competencies, and ensure quality control procedures. Develop educational material on non‑invasive brain stimulation for patients, families, and referring physicians. Bridge clinical and research applications in cognitive and mental health disabilities. Track technological advances for mobile evaluation of cognitive and behavioral functions and develop programs for assessment and adoption in the Wolk Center. Collaborate with Wolk Center clinical teams and other members of the HSL clinical care team to diagnose problems, formulate treatment plans, evaluate progress, and communicate results. Document patient visits within a timely manner (typically within same day) using the appropriate medical record system, and submit charges within 72 hours. Perform related work as assigned. Qualifications Doctoral degree in Psychology with specialized training in Clinical Neuropsychology from an accredited institution. Current Massachusetts state license as Licensed Psychologist. Professional experience providing neuropsychological evaluation and treatment in LTC, supportive housing, or other geriatric facility. Knowledge of the principles and practices of clinical neuropsychology. Documented significant contributions on peer‑reviewed publications and success as a clinical investigator. Demonstrated ability to innovate, think strategically, manage multiple projects, and handle complex situations. Documented expertise in neurophysiology, neuroimaging, non‑invasive brain stimulation (TMS and tES). Physical Requirements Please refer to the Physical Requirement Sheets in Occupational Health.
