Location: 2400 Unser Blvd, Rio Rancho, NM 87124 Overview Diagnose and treat cancer in adults using chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, biological therapy, and targeted therapy. The Medical Oncologist works in collaboration with the supportive care team and may coordinate treatment given by other specialists. Hematology includes diagnosis and treatment of blood disorders. Responsibilities In alignment with NCCN guidelines, order and oversee diagnostic testing; prescribe treatment and supportive medications. Collaborate with the care team to include palliative care, psychology, social work, PT, OT, speech therapy, dietician, nursing, and research to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Oversee care provided by Advanced Practice Clinicians, as required by provider licensure. Participate in process improvement which drives standard of care across the continuum. Participate in tumor board(s). Qualifications M.D. or D.O. with fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology and Hematology. New Mexico medical license. 3–5 years minimum experience preferred. Demonstration of CARES behaviors and practice of collaborative care.
