Overview The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will take responsibility for orchestrating specialty care in an outpatient setting. The incumbent shall assess, diagnose and develop a plan of care for patients with gastrointestinal illnesses in conjunction with the gastroenterologist and will work as a part of the academic care team. Competency in performing diagnostic tests will be expected; training will be provided. Responsibilities Assess, diagnose and develop a plan of care for patients with gastrointestinal illnesses in outpatient settings, in collaboration with the gastroenterologist. Coordinate specialty gastroenterology care as part of an academic care team. Perform diagnostic tests as needed; training will be provided. Qualifications NYS licensed/registered NP or PA (NP specialty area must align with practice). Must have an NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) or be eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire. NP: National Certification through AANP or ANCC, and Master\'s Degree. PA: graduation from an accredited PA program and National Certification through NCCPA. Initial certification must be present or obtained within 6 months of hire. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross. Work Schedule Monday through Friday daytime hours. Compensation and Benefits Salary: $99,000 - $165,000. Benefits package includes health, dental and vision insurance. Eligibility for employer 401(k) funding after 1 year (3% quarterly/5% annual on vesting schedule).
