Job Details Job Number: • Title: Director of Operations – Patient Flow • Salary: $132,912.00 – $176,134.40 Job Summary Director of Operations – Patient Flow will be the strategic and operational leader over the newly created Patient Flow Command Center (PFCC) within Care Transitions and Integration. The PFCC provides a fundamental shift in how Harris Health manages patient flow, bed utilization, and hospital capacity across Ben Taub and LBJ Hospitals as well as Hospital at Home. The PFCC utilizes real‑time data to monitor and make decisions from a centralized system hub, operated by nurses and coordinators to perform bed placement, transfers, and operational dispatching (guest transport, EVS, and language services). This position works in tandem and collaboration with all three acute pavilions as well as the clinical PFCC leadership. The director directs and oversees all operations of the department as directed by Executive Management, assists with directing, mentoring, and coaching management and staff, and develops processes, policies, and procedures to ensure departmental functions are carried out in a timely, accurate, efficient, and customer‑service oriented manner. The director maintains knowledge of current government and non‑government healthcare compliance requirements and collaborates with leadership to ensure efficient processes support patient care functions and optimal outcomes. This role requires at least 10 years of experience with patient flow. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field; or high school diploma/GED plus 9 years of related work experience. Work Experience: 5 years of related experience. Management Experience: 4 years of management experience. Technical: PC and general office equipment proficiency. Special Requirements Communication Skills: Above‑average verbal communication with heavy public contact; exceptional public speaking; skill in writing and composing correspondence and reports. Other Skills: Analytical reasoning, mathematics, medical terminology, statistics, PC, MS Word, MS Excel. Advanced Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field.
