Overview The Regional Medical Science Liaison Director (RMD) leads a large therapeutic area regional MSL team across the West region, delivering a valued medical‑scientific customer experience that enhances patient outcomes through effective engagement and safe product use. Key Accountabilities Leverage a cross‑portfolio perspective to partner with medical directors and align access and care delivery strategies, conducting needs analysis to allocate field medical personnel strategically. Maintain expertise in the assigned therapeutic area, build relationships with external scientific, medical and managed care communities, and understand medical access barriers to advance inclusive research. Coach, develop and mentor regional and therapeutic area MSL teams, fostering a broader enterprise‑wide perspective and strategic engagement. Collaborate with Medical Partners and FMT colleagues to align long‑term vision, territory‑specific listening priorities and tactical medical plans with local customer needs. Work closely with regional Field Medical colleagues to ensure successful implementation of strategies and ensure TA strategies align with access and care delivery needs. Co‑create national strategic plans for assigned molecules, building relationships with key customers to drive innovative engagement. Prioritize initiatives addressing critical customer and market needs, and reallocate resources based on data‑driven decisions. Lead the MSL team to reach full potential by setting performance expectations, sharing best practices, and fostering a culture of inclusivity, psychological safety and work‑life balance. Utilize analytics and digital tools to assess TA customer insights and engagement impact, informing medical strategies and enhancing Field Medical team impact. Qualifications & Experience Advanced clinical or science degree required (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MSN, MPH, MD, DO, PA, ANP); a BSN with extensive clinical experience may also be considered. 7+ years of related experience in clinical, managed care or industry settings. 2+ years of experience leading teams directly or indirectly. Outstanding knowledge of the healthcare landscape, therapeutic area expertise, and business acumen – understanding the industry, company business model, product and safety profiles, competitors, and marketplace dynamics. Strong communication and collaboration skills to influence senior leadership within a matrixed organization. Financial acumen with experience managing large‑scale budgets. Preferred: prior experience as a field medical science liaison with demonstrated customer engagement skills. In‑depth knowledge of Phase IV / post‑marketing drug development. Location and Travel Requirements Field‑based role. Salary range: $229,390 – $426,010, determined by experience, qualifications, geographic location and other factors permissible by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance.
