Nurse Manager - Emergency Department Work location: Texas Health Alliance, North Fort Worth, Texas. Core work hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Key Responsibilities OPERATIONS: Plan, organize, and delegate activities to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operation of the unit. Provide resources and guidance to support evidence‑based practice standards. Identify and utilize processes and resources that support optimal delivery of data and information to staff. Facilitate preparation of the unit, environment, and staff to meet credentialing body requirements. Identify key drivers in the throughput process, evaluate areas of role, and develop solutions to barriers. QUALITY PATIENT CARE OUTCOMES: Plan and manage patient care processes to improve performance. Facilitate delivery of quality patient care. Ensure documentation meets hospital and credentialing standards, policies, and guidelines. Demonstrate supportive role in change processes. HUMAN RESOURCES: Responsible for staffing based on patient care needs; manage people functions including staff, performance reviews, and corrective action. Promote professional growth and development of employees. Recognize and reward individual and team accomplishments. Promote staff retention and facilitate orientation for new staff. Support shared decision‑making through the unit‑based council. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION: Incorporate customer needs and expectations into daily operations and business planning strategies. Promote team‑building strategies and principles of group process in interactions with staff. BUDGET: Prepare operating and capital budgets for areas of responsibility. Manage approved budgets effectively and adjust strategies as needed to meet expectations. Identify and evaluate patient care requirements and outcomes based on acuity, system, and budgetary guidelines. PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTABILITY: Participate in professional organizations and hospital/department/system committees. Stay current with professional activities. Alert appropriate individuals of ethical and legal concerns. Educate staff on chain of command. Serve as a role model/mentor. Adhere to ANA Code of Ethics and hospital policies. Maintain compliance with the Nurse Practice Act. Engage in community activities such as Reach Out THR. Participate in peer review and 360‑degree evaluations. Develop and address growth needs. Complete reports in a timely manner. Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required). CLIA Foreign Education Equivalency (Required). 3 years as a registered nurse with experience as a charge nurse or similar leadership role (Required). 5 or more years of nursing experience (Required). Strongly preferred: Emergency experience, and supervisory or managerial experience. Licenses & Certifications Registered Nurse (RN) – Required upon hire. BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support required before independent patient care and maintained quarterly (Required). PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support required if working in ED within 90 days (Required). ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support required if working in ED within 90 days (Required). TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course required if working in ED within 90 days (Required). Skills: Knowledge of industry standards; organization, theory, principles, and research processes; quality improvement and change management techniques; financial analysis, budget process and planning; accreditation and regulatory standards; strategic planning principles; ability to assess nursing care requirements based on nursing principles, scope of practice, and regulatory standards. #J-18808-Ljbffr
