Position Overview Seeking a compassionate and skilled Associate Veterinarian or Medical Director to join Johns Creek Veterinary Clinic. Responsibilities include leading veterinary care, managing associate veterinarians, ensuring regulatory compliance, mentoring staff, and participating in hospital operations as a staff veterinarian while maintaining high standards of patient care. Key Responsibilities Maintain a high quality of progressive veterinary care, overseeing medical standards and quality of care. Set policies related to the practice of medicine and work toward integrated service delivery. Recommend and budget for inventory and equipment upgrades. Provide patient care and manage clinical practice. Ensure clear communication with clients and between medical staff, including transfer of patient care responsibilities. Review patient records for completeness and accuracy and utilize them to promote medical excellence. Manage controlled drugs and approve requests for additional medical supplies. Conduct regular doctor meetings and perform duties assigned by the Manager. Handle patient care problems, client complaints, and referral partner issues. Manage veterinary, client, and board complaints and recommend resolutions. Develop and enforce medical policies. Assist in ensuring compliance with the State Veterinary Medical Practice Act, OSHA, and AAHA standards. Monitor DVM performance and production, providing coaching when appropriate. Serve as a mentor and role model for all staff veterinarians. Lead candidate interviews for potential DVMs. Identify new service opportunities not currently offered in the hospital. Monitor key performance indicators and work with the Hospital Manager to achieve positive results. Identify and plan for challenges in maintaining hospital operations. Qualifications (Required) Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university. Current State Veterinary License. DEA registration. 3–5+ years of experience in a veterinary practice. Strong diagnostic and clinical skills. Excellent surgical and dental skills. Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality veterinary care. Client communication skills, including rapport building and clear explanations. Confident and reassuring with severely stressed, ill, or painful pets. Physical ability to perform moderate duties, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
