To support growing aerospace programs, Moog is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer with expertise in multi-axis milling to develop machining processes, support production, and drive continuous improvement initiatives for some of the industry's most complex aerospace components. The Work You'll Be Doing As a Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer - Milling, you will: Develop and optimize CNC milling processes for both new and existing aerospace components Create CNC programs, setup documentation, operation sheets, and manufacturing instructions Define tooling, workholding, gauging, machining sequences, and inspection requirements Review engineering drawings and models for manufacturability Support machine prove-outs and troubleshoot machining challenges on the production floor Resolve issues related to tooling, workholding, inspection, and process performance Collaborate with engineering, quality, production, and supplier teams Estimate setup times, run times, tooling requirements, and manufacturing costs Lead continuous improvement projects focused on quality, efficiency, and productivity Mentor junior engineers and programming personnel Machines, Controls & Software You'll work with advanced manufacturing technology including: Machines Okuma MU5000 5-Axis Machining Centers Multi-Axis Vertical Machining Centers Multi-Axis Horizontal Machining Centers CAM Software Siemens NX (preferred) Mastercam ESPRIT PartMaker Similar CAD/CAM platforms Inspection & Quality Precision measuring equipment Aerospace quality systems AS9102 documentation requirements Materials You'll Work With Aluminum Stainless Steel Titanium Aerospace Alloys These components often require extremely tight tolerances and complex machining strategies. What We're Looking ForRequired Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience OR Associate Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience OR High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of relevant experience 3+ years of CNC programming experience using CAD/CAM software Strong background in CNC milling and multi-axis machining Hands-on machine setup and machining experience Strong understanding of manufacturing processes from raw material through finished product Excellent communication and documentation skills U.S. Citizenship required Preferred Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering degree Aerospace manufacturing experience Siemens NX programming experience Lean Manufacturing or Lean Six Sigma experience Inspection and quality experience Automation integration experience Experience machining titanium, stainless steel, and aluminum Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate started their career as a machinist, gained hands-on experience running and setting up CNC mills, and eventually transitioned into CNC programming or manufacturing engineering. You enjoy taking ownership of the entire manufacturing process-from reviewing engineering models and creating toolpaths to supporting prove-outs and continuous improvement efforts on the shop floor.
