Overview The Ward Family Heart Center at Children's Mercy Kansas City is seeking a full time Pediatric Hospitalist to join our team. The successful candidate would join an existing group of 43 cardiologists, 4 cardiovascular surgeons and over 40 APNs. Heart Center Highlights The Children’s Mercy Heart Center serves a population of over 5 million in the heart of the U.S.A. We perform over 500 cardiac operations, 600 cardiac catheterizations including over 200 invasive EP procedures, 18,000 outpatient visits and more than 20,000 echocardiograms annually. Our two state‑of‑the‑art catheterization labs are both hybrid labs and equipped with the latest 3D imaging and EP technology. Telehealth is available and facilitates our outreach clinics. We have video‑conferencing capabilities that are routinely used by providers from distant locations to dial into our conferences for patient care and education. Our Kansas City‑based super‑specialty resources include Electrophysiology, Cardiac Transplantation/Heart Failure, Interventional Cardiology and Advanced Cardiac Imaging. We also provide specialized, team‑based care in fetal cardiology, CHAMP interstage monitoring, preventive cardiology, cardiac genetics, cardio‑oncology, single ventricle survivorship, pulmonary hypertension, a dedicated POTS clinic and cardiac neuro‑developmental services. Responsibilities Primary responsibilities will center on inpatient clinical care within the dedicated Acute Care Cardiac team, participating in multidisciplinary rounds. This dedicated team cares for infants and children with congenital, acquired or complex cardiovascular conditions requiring intermediate level care. You will work with sub‑specialty teams, cardiology‑dedicated APRNs, medical students, cardiology nursing, nutrition, PT/OT, pharmacy, social work, care management and more. The successful applicant must share our commitment to excellence, integrity, collegiality, antiracism and respect for inclusion. Evening coverage will be required. Minimum Qualifications MD or DO. Trainees in their final year of residency are welcome to apply. Board‑eligible or certified in pediatrics. Experience and interest in pediatric cardiology. Children’s Mercy is affiliated with the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Preferred Residency‑trained pediatrician with an interest in cardiology to provide care for infants and children with congenital, acquired or complex cardiovascular conditions.
