Reporting & Leadership Structure The Operating Room Nurse Manager reports to the Director of Perioperative Services (or designee) and serves as the day‑to‑day leader for the operating room. Direct reports typically include charge nurses, registered nurses, surgical technologists, unit coordinators, and support staff. The role partners closely with anesthesia leadership, surgeons, sterile processing, pre‑op/PACU, materials management, and quality to achieve aligned goals. Key Responsibilities Lead daily operations of the operating room, ensuring safe and efficient surgical throughput and an exceptional patient and physician experience. Oversee staffing and scheduling in a 24/7 environment, resource allocation, and equipment and supply stewardship. Coordinate with anesthesia, surgeons, sterile processing, and other perioperative teams to sustain a smooth, on‑time, patient‑centered surgical schedule. Guide competency validation, education, precepting, and practice standardization to elevate quality and safety outcomes. Design and implement regulatory readiness initiatives, including Joint Commission accreditation efforts.
