Job Summary and Responsibilities CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a full‑time, Board Certified or Board Eligible Infectious Disease Physician to join our team. Overview The Infectious Disease Physician is responsible for the comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of a wide spectrum of infectious diseases. This role involves managing complex patient cases across inpatient and outpatient settings, contributing to infection control strategies, and promoting judicious antimicrobial use. Clinical Care Diagnose and manage bacterial, viral, fungal, parasitic, and mycobacterial infections. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including antimicrobial therapy. Provide expert consultations to other medical specialties regarding infectious disease management. Manage immunocompromised patients, including those with HIV/AIDS, transplant recipients, etc. Perform and interpret relevant diagnostic tests (e.g., cultures, serologies, molecular tests). Infection Prevention & Control Collaborate with infection prevention teams to identify, investigate, and control healthcare-associated infections and outbreaks. Advise on isolation precautions, sterilization, and disinfection practices. Documentation & Communication Maintain accurate and timely medical records. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Benefits Comprehensive package including Health/Dental/Vision and 401k with match.
