Experienced Attorney - 3-5+ Years PreferredThe Botnick Law Firm is looking for an experienced criminal defense attorney to join our team.This position is best suited for an attorney with courtroom experience who is comfortable managing cases, working directly with clients, and helping move matters from intake through resolution. Prior criminal defense experience in private practice is preferred, but we would also welcome candidates with prosecution, public defender, or other meaningful criminal courtroom experience.Our firm handles criminal, traffic, OVI/DUI, juvenile, and related defense matters throughout Northeast Ohio. Responsibilities may include:Managing criminal, traffic, OVI/DUI, and related defense casesAppearing in municipal, juvenile, federal, and common pleas courtsHandling pretrials, motion hearings, sentencing hearings, plea negotiations, and trialsReviewing discovery, police reports, videos, criminal histories, and court recordsIdentifying legal issues, factual defenses, mitigation themes, and negotiation strategiesDrafting and arguing motionsCommunicating with clients about case strategy, risks, options, and next stepsWorking with the team to keep cases organized and moving forwardMentoring or supporting newer attorneys when appropriateConducting consultations with potential clientsQualifications:What We're Looking ForThe right candidate will bring:Ohio law license in good standing3-5+ years of criminal defense, courtroom, prosecution, or public defender experience preferredStrong courtroom presence and professional judgmentAbility to manage cases independently while working well with a teamStrong written and verbal communication skillsAttention to detail and good organizationComfort speaking with clients during stressful situationsFamiliarity with criminal procedure, plea negotiations, hearings, and trial preparationInterest in helping the firm continue to growExperience with OVI/DUI, traffic, municipal court, felony defense, or Northeast Ohio courts is a plus.About CompanyThe Botnick Law Firm is a boutique criminal defense practice serving clients in state and federal courts across Northeast Ohio.
