Position Title Ambulatory Clinic RN - Family Medicine Days - Full Time (Landon Center on Aging) Job Summary As the ambulatory clinic professional registered nurse, the RN has the authority, responsibility and shift accountability for the delivery of nursing care using the nursing process. The RN accepts accountability, applies competent clinical knowledge and uses independent nursing judgment for care provided by self and by healthcare providers delegated to achieve quality patient care outcomes. The RN must possess the ability to assess and interpret patient data to identify each patient’s requirements relative to age‑specific needs. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care within the ambulatory setting, based on the nursing process and within scope of practice. Perform preliminary assessment of patients through observation and chart review to facilitate appropriate follow‑up with the healthcare team. Evaluate unstable or complex patient care situations and facilitate appropriate intervention. Implement appropriate clinical decisions and demonstrate appropriate use of experts and/or management as applicable. Accept accountability and use independent nursing judgment for care provided by self and by healthcare providers delegated. Demonstrate appropriate use of standards, effective use of resources, and evaluation of patient response in the delivery of patient care. Identify teach/learning needs of patients and provide educational instruction to patients and families with health care needs. Evaluate effectiveness of patient and family teaching and document in patient charts. Respond to or refer incoming patient treatment–related phone calls. Complete necessary forms (e.g., FMLA, DME, Home Health orders) and obtain physician signatures as appropriate. Perform the professional, clinical and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience High school graduate. Associate degree in Nursing. 6 months of RN experience; 2 or more years RN experience to be an Ambulatory Clinic RN PRN. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred). Required Licensure and Certification Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) – Multi‑State or Single‑State; active with multistate in progress with proof of application. Current active multistate state RN license in good standing in state where you live, or active single state RN license in good standing where you will be working, with proof of application of a multistate RN license. Must be able to obtain a multistate state RN license from the state in which they live by 4/30/2026 (for staff hired prior to 2/1/2024). Basic Life Support (BLS) – Heartsaver (non‑clinical); American Heart Association or obtained within 14 days.
