Our client, a 150+ bed hospital located about 30 minutes from Little Rock, AR, has a need for a Director of Surgical Services to join their team. Candidates MUST have a BSN and MUST have at least 3 years of Surgical Services Director experience to be considered. They provide a wide range of inpatient and outpatient surgical services. They offer Bariatrics, Colon & Rectal Surgery, Endoscopy, General Surgery, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology (ENT), Podiatry, and Urology. Their Surgical Services operates six main OR suites supporting both inpatient and outpatient procedures with efficiency and safety. Across all service areas, approximately 80 full-time equivalents (FTEs) deliver coordinated, patient-centered care. JOB DUTIES Provides leadership and operational oversight for Main OR, Outpatient Surgery, PACU, Pre-Op, Post-OP, and Endoscopy Monitors key performance metrics, including case volume, turnover time, block utilization, and on-time starts. Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization. Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives. Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives. Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits. Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth. Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols. QUALIFICATIONS Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices. Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, and ensure quality standards. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff. BLS Required ACLS & PALS Preferred PACU, PRE-OP, and ENDO Experience Preferred At least three years experience in a Director role. Minimum 5 years of Surgical Director Experience Preferred Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Advanced degree (MSN, Healthcare Administration, and MBA) strongly preferred.
