We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a dynamic Emergency Department and Urgent Care team serving a rural health system in west-central Minnesota. This position offers a unique blend of ED, walk-in clinic, and inpatient support work with strong autonomy, flexibility, and system-wide coverage opportunities. Role Highlights Provide ED coverage in a rural emergency department with tele-support backup (Avel system in place) Manage low-to-moderate acuity emergency cases (average ESI ~3.5) with ~3–4 patient encounters per shift Deliver urgent care services across walk-in clinic settings Support inpatient care as needed, including hospitalist, swing bed, and observation patients Work in a high-autonomy environment with strong system-wide flexibility across ED and urgent care sites Serve as a key clinical resource in rural emergency and acute care delivery Qualifications Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program Current or eligible Minnesota licensure and DEA Active ACLS certification required Prior experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care strongly required Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary setting Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $120K – $140K annually Generous sign-on bonus (details upon inquiry) Relocation assistance available Annual CME allowance + paid professional dues and memberships Comprehensive benefits package including: Health, dental, disability insurance Employer-paid professional liability coverage 401(k) with employer contribution (eligible after 6 months) 6 weeks paid time off annually The Community Living and working in west-central Minnesota along the I-94 corridor offers a relaxed, small-town lifestyle surrounded by lakes, parks, and year-round outdoor recreation, including nearby destinations like Glendalough State Park and Maplewood State Park.
