Position Overview Faculty are essential to Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ. The Assistant Professor’s primary role is to teach in their areas of expertise, maintain the integrity of course and instructional programs, and ensure delivery aligns with the university mission and vision for the student experience. Faculty are expected to create an academic atmosphere of mutual respect and may be asked to aid in curriculum development and engage in research, scholarship, or creative activity as expectations of their college or school dictate. Responsibilities Teach courses in areas of expertise. Maintain the integrity of course and instructional programs. Ensure delivery is aligned with the mission and vision for the student experience. Create an academic environment of mutual respect and consideration for individual dignity. Assist in curriculum development for residential and distance‑education environments. Engage in research, scholarship, or creative activity as expected by the college or school. Participate in service to students and their professional discipline. Qualifications Earned doctoral degree or terminal master’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant area, or a professional certificate (e.g., CPA) preferred. Scholarly and professional achievements sufficient for promotion to Assistant Professor. Contract & Load Contracted for 10, 11, or 12 months. Load hours: 30 (10 months), 33 (11 months), 36 (12 months). Teaching‑load release determined each semester by the Dean per the Faculty Handbook. Location & Time Location: Lynchburg – In Office.
