General Summary Provides neuropsychological assessment, diagnostic, and treatment services to pediatric patients and their families. Supports Lurie Children’s medical services through consultation on neurocognitive status and its relationship to medical–neurological conditions and treatment plans. Integrates developmental and cultural considerations into care delivery and promotes continuous quality improvement, customer service, and equity in access to care. Responsibilities Conduct diagnostic evaluations using neuropsychological test batteries; interpret and communicate results. Design protocols for monitoring cognitive, socioemotional, and behavioral status of medical patient populations. Interface with outpatient clinics of Lurie Children’s medical services to monitor patient populations. Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the electronic medical record in a timely manner and write letters, notes, and formal reports. Communicate progress via telephone, telemedicine, and the electronic medical record as appropriate. Adhere to department protocols and policies of the Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Lurie Children’s Hospital. Participate in the APA‑approved internship training program and in training programs for psychology practicum students, fellows, and residents by preparing and presenting seminars and providing supervision. Collaborate and consult with medical providers, schools, social service agencies, and state and local funding agencies through oral and written presentation of clinical findings and recommendations. Complete all case‑management duties for assigned cases, including discharge planning, diagnostic evaluation, and referrals to appropriate support services. Attend rounds, patient‑care conferences, diagnostic and treatment team meetings, multidisciplinary case conferences, and discipline‑specific meetings. Engage in research related to pediatric neuropsychology and, when appropriate, participate in program evaluation and scholarly activities; publication and grant application are strongly encouraged. Assist in the training and supervision of psychometrists/neuropsychology technicians. Provide appropriate coverage for scheduled absences and maintain test equipment and supplies in state‑of‑the‑art condition. Participate in continuing education, including hospital and department mandatory courses and courses required for professional certification or licensure. Perform all job functions while upholding customer‑service principles of innovation, service excellence, and teamwork. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Minimum education: doctoral degree in clinical psychology with an APA‑approved internship and a two‑year post‑doctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology (or a related area with completed internship). License and certification: Must be licensed in Illinois prior to start date and obtain clinical privileges; must be board certified or eligible for ABPP/ABCN certification in clinical neuropsychology. Trained in aspects of clinical and/or behavioral translational research. Proactive, creative thinking and initiative. Excellent verbal and written communication, critical‑thinking, and interpersonal skills. Documented track record of academic productivity, including peer‑reviewed publications and grant application experience. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Physical and Lifestyle Requirements Sits and stands throughout the day; may need to manage patients in crisis situations. Basic Life Support certification required within sixty days of hire. Spanish language fluency is preferable. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $100,000.00 – $1,000,000.00 (depending on experience and qualifications).
