Position overview Unit/Division: Child and Adolescent Health Service Gynaecology. This is a Permanent Part‑time appointment for 32 hours per fortnight. Position profile In partnership with the Gynaecology Head of Department and other clinical staff, the specialty Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is responsible for delivering quality patient care within the specialty. Key duties include supervising the delivery of patient care, developing practice standards, implementing changes to clinical practice, providing education to staff, and initiating research and quality improvement activities. The CNS provides a specialist consultation service, collaborates to improve patient outcomes for individuals with complex needs in both inpatient and ambulatory settings, and acts as a senior nurse with professional accountability to the Executive Director of Nursing. The CNS mentors and role‑models nurses and contributes to the advancement of the profession, supporting the vision and values of Perth Children’s Hospital. Background – Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) CAHS is a statewide, dedicated paediatric health service, providing care for infants, children and young people across Perth Children’s Hospital and King Edward Memorial Hospital, plus more than 160 community clinics.
