Ensure high-quality patient care and compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Supervise, coach, and mentor staff, fostering professional growth, accountability, and engagement. Develop staffing schedules and determine appropriate staffing patterns to meet patient care needs. Monitor, analyze, and manage workforce productivity. Collaborate with nursing leadership in recruitment, selection, orientation, and retention of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback. Facilitate staff education, training, and competency assessments. Assist with budget preparation, monitoring, and cost‑containment strategies. Maintain unit readiness for regulatory audits and ensure adherence to safety standards. Support and participate in fostering a healthy work environment and shared decision-making. Participate in nursing leadership on‑call rotation to provide support and guidance to staff. Occasionally step into direct staffing roles to support the team during high census or staffing shortages. Track and improve nurse-sensitive adverse events. Collaborate with other nurse leaders to support optimal staffing and direct resources appropriately. Track and collaborate on competency management for staff. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years experience. Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Current BLS certification required prior to employment. ACLS certification required prior to employment. PALS certification required within 6 months of hire. TNCC or TCAR required within 6 months of hire. NE‑BC within 3 years of hire or when eligibility criteria are met. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred. CCRN, PCCN, or similar high acuity certification preferred. Minimum of three years of leadership experience in a medical-surgical unit or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
