Program Overview Rogers Behavioral Health is seeking a full‑time psychiatrist to join our adult treatment center team at our Oconomowoc campus. Rogers Adult teams offer both inpatient and residential levels of care. Our multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, internists, psychologists, nurses, therapists, dietitians and mental health technicians are committed to providing compassionate, effective care for those diagnosed with mental disorders. Our treatment programs are tailored to the unique needs of the patients to provide the best outcomes for every patient. This role is within our acute care setting, and has 24/7 care, with call being distributed equally among the medical staff. Responsibilities Attend patients and cover locations assigned by employer, including inpatient, residential, and virtual services per licensure. Conduct medication management sessions. Perform psychiatric evaluations, assessments, histories, and physical examinations. Create and update patient treatment plans. Provide patient and family education; collaborate with nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Participate in team and unit meetings, including medical staff meetings and the executive committee. Develop discharge plans and oversee patient progress. Provide oversight of medical residents and fellows on the unit. Participate in assigned call schedule and complete all charting and documentation within 24hours. Complete emergency detentions and necessary paperwork; coordinate with regulatory agencies. Provide medication education to nursing staff and in‑service treatment teams. Meet patient productivity and coding documentation standards. Assist payor relations: develop positive relationships with contracted payors, review denials, interface with referring parties, and coordinate aftercare. Market the employer, including off‑site meetings and marketing activities; review admissions, pending cases, and declined admissions to ensure policy compliance. Serve as an advocate: provide support, information, education, and services; participate in quality assurance and performance improvement, identify new program development opportunities, and participate in community education of behavioral health issues. Provide admissions support: recommend placement based on criteria, review screening, communicate professionally, refer to other departments, prioritize effectively, and maintain relationships with medical staff and providers. Qualifications Licensed MD or DO in the state with a specialization in psychiatry; board‑eligible physician; board certification preferred. Graduate of an accredited college/university and medical school. Successful completion of a GME accredited residency and/or fellowship; if working with children, additional residency in that age group required. Previous work or moonlighting experience as a psychiatrist in another licensed hospital; leadership and/or supervisory experience in a behavioral health organization preferred. Experience with process improvement implementation preferred. Physical/Mental Demands Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; ability to build rapport. Initiative, judgement, organizational and strategic planning, delegation, and decision‑making affecting diagnosis and treatment. Ability to adapt to changing conditions, programs, and details. Verbal, hearing, numerical, and written communication skills. Physical capacity: walking, sitting, standing; light workload; capable of lifting up to 20pounds; manual dexterity and use of office equipment. Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties as verified by a licensed physician post‑employment physical exam.
