Winn Army Community Hospital is a 112‑bed community hospital providing primary and specialty care for a patient population of over 70,000. As a civilian OB‑GYN physician, you will play an integral role in ensuring the health and readiness of all women at every stage of life. Position Overview The OB‑GYN physician provides inpatient, outpatient, surgical, and on‑call obstetrics and gynecology services including diagnosing and treating diseases of the female reproductive system and the prenatal, perinatal and postnatal care of routine and complicated pregnancies and routine care of the normal neonate. Duties include: Obtain medical history; perform physical examination; determine need for and order appropriate laboratory and radiology tests; interpret results and make evaluation to determine diagnosis, prognosis, and to initiate appropriate treatment, therapy, and follow‑up. Provide complete and appropriate instructions regarding medications, limitations and follow‑up plans. Seek advice or refer patients to consultants as appropriate. Respond to "Code Blue" medical emergency alerts within the hospital and provide resuscitation treatment until more specialized treatment arrives. If resuscitation efforts are unsuccessful, the physician shall pronounce the patient dead, complete necessary records, and notify the next‑of‑kin if they are physically present. Provide medical consultation to Nurse Midwives, Nurse Practitioners and other clinical staff as requested, consistent with the most recent standards of care. Ensure timely dictation of surgical inpatient services, maintain medical records in accordance with designated regulations, and be notified of deficiencies in record‑keeping as part of peer review. Remain in the clinic or be immediately available to the clinic throughout the scheduled shift, except in response to emergencies. Qualifications MD or DO and successful completion of postgraduate training. Valid, unrestricted medical license in at least one state, territory, or commonwealth of the U.S. Minimum of one year of experience within the last two years working as a full‑scope obstetrics and gynecology physician. Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology or the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Current individual Drug Enforcement Administration registration. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. Contract position at a military facility; must be a U.S. citizen. Work Schedule Full‑time clinic hours: 8‑hour shifts between 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Alternative shift hours may be required as identified by the Department Chief. Primary in‑house, on‑call services are required and include nights, weekends, and federal holidays. In‑house on‑call responses will be within 5 minutes. Physician shall have had at least 8 hours of rest from all other duties immediately prior to their primary on‑call shift. Secondary or backup on‑call (beeper) services are after‑hours and weekend on a rotation with other clinical providers. Providers are required to meet a 30‑minute response time. #J-18808-Ljbffr
