Ophthalmologist – Independent Practice Track (MedCBO Supported) We are seeking an ophthalmologist to establish or transition into an independently operated medical practice supported by MedCBO’s administrative infrastructure. The physician will own and operate the practice while MedCBO provides non‑clinical business and operational support. Overview The physician governs all clinical operations, decisions, and patient care policies. MedCBO does not direct patient care but offers comprehensive support services. Physician Responsibilities Provide ophthalmology care within the physician’s scope of practice. Develop and maintain professional relationships within the medical community. Coordinate payer credentialing with MedCBO participation as required. Determine clinical services offered. Manage clinical quality and patient experience. Administrative Support Provided by MedCBO Practice formation coordination. Billing and collections management. Payer contract negotiation. Financial infrastructure and reporting. Operational workflows and staffing systems. Technology platform and implementation. MedCBO Services to Physicians Revenue cycle management, coding, and payer contracting support. EHR, technology platform, telehealth, and clinical workflow systems. Credentialing, enrollments, and facility privileging coordination. Accounting, financial reporting, and practice financial infrastructure. HR administration, staffing workflows, and compliance support. Supply chain and vendor coordination. Requirements MD or DO with an unrestricted license in good standing in the intended state of practice. Board Certified or Board Eligible in ophthalmology. Eligible for hospital and/or facility privileges where applicable. Ability to obtain professional liability coverage at standard market rates. No current limitations, exclusions, or disciplinary restrictions that would prevent independent practice. Interest in the independent practice ownership model. Preferred Desire for practice ownership. Community‑based care interest. Leadership or program development interest. Location Multiple U.S. markets available (urban, suburban, and rural). Physician‑directed relocation and market selection are subject to licensure. Compensation Compensation is generated by the physician‑owned practice. Financial outcomes vary based on specialty scope, services offered, payer mix, physician activity, and local market conditions. Results are not guaranteed.
